Ladygrove Briefing Sessions - 15 and 16 February 2017

Over 300 residents of Ladygrove attended briefing sessions on 15 and 16 February regarding the initial garden town proposals. At these sessions the council presented the proposals and the rationale behind these, followed by the opportunity for residents to express their opinions. A copy of the slides from the briefing sessions can be found here

Many concerns were raised, although most comments were about the proposed technology campus on Ladygrove Park, the proposal to close Cow Lane to vehicular traffic and the proposal to potentially relocate the railway station. Comments raised at the sessions will be added to feedback received through the garden town website, by email, by post and by phone.

Many people questioned how the proportion of green space given over to the technology campus was calculated and felt that including the mounds and lakes north of Tyne Avenue distorted the impact of the proposed development. The council agreed to recognise that although 17% of the green space would be developed, approximately 50% of flat park land would be affected. This has now been noted on the presentation.

Following the sessions it has been agreed to extend the feedback period from 24 February to 28 February 2017. This allows further time for people to register their comments which can be done by:

- accessing this website

- email to info@didcotgardentown.co.uk

- post to Didcot Garden Town, 135 Eastern Avenue, Milton Park, OX14 4SB

- phone on 01235 422473

Comments received will be considered when producing the draft delivery plan which is aimed to be launched on 22 March 2017.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued involvement in the engagement process. It is very clear that the residents of Didcot are passionate about their town and we are grateful for all feedback received.
